At the closing mass of the Eucharistic Congress in Trenton , October 14th, Bishop David O’Connell, Bishop of the Diocese of Trenon, awarded Jim & Cheryl Manfredonia, a Benemerenti Award.  This is the second highest honor a layperson can receive from the Pope, conferred upon those who have exhibited long and exceptional service to the Church. 

        Jim is Founder of Domestic Church Media, operating two full-time Catholic Radio Stations reaching much of New Jersey and parts of PA.    Plans are in the making to expand into more of PA, parts of NY, and further into North Jersey.  

         Cheryl has her Masters degree in Music, teaching the Word of God through sacred music not only on the airwaves, but in Catholic Schools for over 25 years.    She is currently the Director of Music for the Lower School at Villa Victoria Academy in Ewing, NJ, maintains her professional performing career as a pianist & cantor, and has a private studio for serious voice, piano and organ students.

         Citing Cheryl and Jim Manfredonia as “exemplary lay Catholics”, Bishop O’Connell commended the couple for their work in providing Catholic teachings, evangelization, and music via the radio airwaves WFJS1260 AM (Trenton-Princeton-Bucks County) and 89.3 FM (Freehold-Shore).
